Richard Land
Richard is the Managing Partner and Head of the Litigation Department of Owen White Catlin.
Having practised law for over 30 years, 25 of which have been at Owen White Catlin, Richard is a thought leader in contentious probate issues, having delivered professional lectures on the topic for almost ten years.
As MP, Richard brought a wealth of experience to the role, particularly his leadership in personal injury and dispute resolution. Richard is dedicated to Owen White Catlin’s core values and ongoing success.
Richard specialises primarily in wills and probate disputes, and his experience spans contentious probate - including Inheritance Act claims, challenges to validity, professional negligence, and disputed assets claims - to possession claims on behalf of personal representatives.
Furthermore, he concentrates on personal injury cases, ranging from road traffic accidents to workplace injuries and public liability cases, such as slip-and-trip accidents. He describes his role as representing his clients, securing the best and most pragmatic outcome for them. Richard also ensures the smooth running of the Hammersmith office and the Litigation Department. Richard’s career started with his training back in the glorious 90s when he almost exclusively dealt with litigation matters. Now, he likes to fight wind and rain on the golf course when he's not fighting cases.
