James Kiely

James is a specialist family solicitor based in our Shepperton and Esher offices.

In 2005, James was called to the Bar of England and Wales and later cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2009. In 2017, he joined Owen White Catlin and has since thrived in his position as a family law specialist. He takes a common-sense approach to all legal problems and empowers his clients with his consistency, communication and transparency.

James is a member of Resolution, a family-first organisation. His wide range of expertise in family law allows him to work on details while maintaining a sense of the bigger picture. In addition to advising his clients as a solicitor, he is also a trained collaborative lawyer, mediator, and member of the Thameside POD, prioritising out-of-court and efficient settlements wherever possible, cost-effective, and fruitful.

In addition to holding a Level 1 Accreditation, James sits on the Resolution Practice Standards Panel and the Surrey Resolution Committee. He also has an accreditation from the Law Society in Family Mediation. In addition to family law, James excels at motoring law, regularly representing clients in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.

In his spare time, you can usually find James travelling, on the golf course, or travelling to a new golf course!
